Why so many people use mt4?
That is like you use windows 98.
What would be the befefits of mt4?
Why you not change to mt5?

I will provide another point of view. Just my opinion of course.... Mt4 is dog shit. The majority of the ea's accessible are there to address flaws in the first, which could have easily been solved within an upgrade if.... Metaquotes put any effort into improving it since the first release. Which they haven't. Now they present a brand new version, which is just a crappier version of 4. No improvements in user interface. None, nada, zilch.
The eighties calledthey need their trading platform ...

Mt4 is the best, hands down.
It is possible to customize it just about any way you want to exchange.
If it is not broke do not fix it...

I agree MT5 was a crap but they improved it a lot. Anyhow its MT4

For position-traders there is virtually no difference (mt4 vs mt5); differently mt4 is your nightmare, mt5 somewhat better.
The difficulty is, most people don't know what's what. Same thing as with trading. Therefore we are living in a sh*tty (mt4) world. Because brokers state - people want it and people say - brokers (only) have it. The problem. .

I expect some of the greatest reasons why MT4 is so popular are:

1. It's free. Historical and live data feeds are also free.

2. There are countless third party indiors and EAs available. If you want an indior or EA to execute a specific task, then you are more likely to find that you has been coded for MT4. The MQL4 programming language is flexible enough to allow just about any egy to be coded.

3. There are dozens and dozens of https://www.100forexbrokers.com/mt4forexbrokers to select from. If you decide you do not like your current broker for whatever reason, then you can easily transfer your account to a different one, and immediately migrate all your indiors and EAs, without the nuisance of having to familiarise yourself with a new platform. Most brokers provide demo accounts, allowing you to test as many different egies as you wish, at your leisure, and at no cost.

4. MT4 is broadly promoted and has come to be a recognized industry standard, irrespective of its shortcomings (in much the exact same manner that almost every PC owner uses Windows, despite the fact that there are better operating systems round ).
