Thread: Currency Strength Indior Trading

  1. #1
    Hi FF!

There are many currency power indiors floating around in internet and most of them seems to be altered variants of CCFp indior, I was using one of the variations for a while with signs of currency strengths , but occasionally it seemed to give incorrect information about strength of the currencies and so I decided to get some comprehension of code and do the required changes by my perspectives.

This thread is for all trading related actions for this indior. You can post you observations and developed egies with this indior within this thread.

    Regards and good luck!

Recommended inputs: default ,but feel free to experiment

Disclaimer: Before trying any of hints or egy talked about in this thread, try it on historical information or demo account first, to gain confidence and gain knowledge about what's the likelihood of it happening .

CCFp indior is based on quick Moving Average and slow Moving average, you can edit them if needed in inputs (fast=, slow=-RRB-. Calculations for each currency includes pairs with largest influence. Strength is equal to sum of pair (fast MA/slow MA -1) or (slow MA/fast MA - 1) depends upon which currency is necessary. -1 is due to division, it's always about 1 ,but if we subtract 1 then 0 is the stage we orientate around. Personally I don't give 0 any meaning or use it as neutral point. Everything I look for is leadership and the angle of currency power, also I am looking just how far apart from 0 it's likely ,giving me some insight of volatility and change within it. You can use it in order to observe trends and length of these in time.

the way to discover trend ?

Here is the way I use this indior to get this done.

To discover trend just do the same as you'd do in regular chart - draw a line. Doing so lets you know where the money is flowing.
To illue this I will use USD and AUD:

The red lines are trend lines by the most recent trend line that wasn't drawn, it is possible to tell that AUDUSD ought to be moving north ,now lets check it

As you can see in chart , it's merely as thought before. Only thing we can not tell is that the motion in pips(space), but these are not bad news at all. You are able to compare the activities in indior and pair and determine the direction in which market flows more easily.

By calculations, 0 purpose should be if quick MA and slow MA is equal in currencies most major pairs.

It's possible to just change line colors to black or whatever desktop is if want to eliminate pairs but I will appreciate the choice to remove as well.

Really nice work, FX. I can see a lot of potential because of this. At first glance I notice that just playing the EUR/GBP cross gives one successful trade each month without the winners at the brief timeframe that the indior is set for.

Is their any way to program an choice to move the indior in blocks of time for broader back testing? To put it differently, right now it covers 10-17-16 (150 candles) to current but it would be nice to move that same 150 candle block back another 150 candles. This way we can back test without covering substantial distances of time and using up a lot of processing power.

Again, really nice work. Thank you for sharing with the community.

    Rex

Sorry ,viewing particular blocks is not possible but you can specify complete candles which are calculated by altering all_bars in inputs.
Here is the very best way to see all calculations in background without using much CPU, because calculations are done only once, use offline charts and place All_Bars to maximal candles in chart:

This is a very simple update where you can turn each pair on or off in inputs ,but it won't alter anything much in CPU usage, because the majority of the usage comes from functions such as iMA() but are necessary for different pairs calculations, so these functions can not be turned off.

Afterwards I will attempt to make indior calculate only the new candles therefore that it might be much more efficient in energy intake , this may use more power at the indior launching time but less after in live charts.
