I have a friend who thinking that in forex market, since the risk is large, the yield should be high also.

Any opinion guys whether yield of constant 10% per month is great enough in Forex using launch account of USD100.

Just would like to listen from expertise traders here.

Does anyone actually make 10 percent a month? I am pretty new to this, but I believed averaging 10 percent a *year* was pretty excellent.

Are people actually making those kinds of profits at Forex?

Before you begin worying about proportions, I propose you worry about loing a syste is effective for you which you know will consistantly produce a profit within a given period.
Clearly if you have a thousand dollar account 10 percent per month could be more than enough to live off and supply you with all the toys you could envision. However on a $100 dollar account that your 10 percent will not even pay for your internet link.

You must first conider the target:
are you going to do this for a living, supplementing your income, creating your investment portflio for retirement etc..

Next, once you've found a system that works for your personality and works consistently producing repeatable trades, you are going to be able to calculate how large an accont you need to meet your objectives.

I set the above in the order because if you go out looking for a system to fit the aims it will' work because every system works differently for each individual according to their risk tollerance, emotional control, endurance, and a large number of other personal charectaristics which make us unique.

FIND A SYSTEM THAT WORKS FOR YOU.... Plan your future.

    Good luck

Depends on your risk. When I started out, 200 pips would double my account.

Earning 10% 20% 50% 1 brazillion% means nothing much really. In my experience, forex profits arrive in bursts. If you think that you can treat forex income like bank interest, go find another investment vehicle.

With a longer duration system, I look for an average of 4% a month or 50 percent per year. Have a aim that is realistic.

It is absurd to believe you can average 10 percent a month. 10 percent a month compounded is roughly 175% a year. 6% a month compounded is a 100% yearly yield. The best traders in the world do not bill gains of 100%, year after year. Possibly shoot for something a bit more realistic just like 30-40%.

And like RR said, do not anticipate steady monthly yields. You might very well have a 10 percent month, followed with a -5% month, and after that a break even month...

Clearly if you've got a million dollar account 10 percent a month could be more than enough to reside off and provide you with all the toys you could imagine. On a dollar account that your will that is 10 percent not even cover your internet connection.

I've developed many methods. The majority of the systems give very large yield ~100% to 300% in short term but will face margin call in other market position.

Among the reason I posted the question is becasue I think I found a consistent system today, but retrun isn't quite as large as my prior system.
Great item is from my forward test and rear test, results seems very consistent.

Thank you for all the inputs given.
