Today I was in a bookstore and saw Steve Nison’s book The Candlestick Course. I browsed it a little and found it very good. But the question arose: should I buy better your most complete book, Japanese Candlestick Charter Techniques? I already have some knowledge about Japanese candles, so my doubts are: Have Nison’s books really helped you in your operation? Which would you recommend me to buy? Does the content go beyond what is already free on the internet? Thank you in advance, “Youth is the repository of prosperity.” - Benjamin Disraeli

I bought Beyond Candlesticks from Steve Nison. I don’t know if it’s the same one you’re referring to, but it certainly brings useful material and clear explanations of each candle and its combinations. It helped me to see the chart with other eyes and improved my demo workouts quite much. Highly recommended! Lots of pips for everyone!
I read some chapters of the Japanese Candlestick Charter by Nison, I didn't finish it because I got the loan. I still tell you that candles are the best way to read the price for me. All those pinbar rules apply perfect to candle analysis. If you apply those ideas to your system, I assure you that you will see results.

Thank you for answering, I think I'm going to encourage myself to buy one.

Buy it now! And if necessary, fight for it. That book not only tells you what patterns there are, it also explains what they mean and what may be going on behind the price. Pure gold.

I would recommend The Candlestick Course to you. The other book is more of a reading book, but the Course gets you into practical analysis. You work it out, you predict the price, you do exercises. It is super interactive. As an educator I tell you: this book not only informs, teaches! I hear and forget, I see and remember, I do and understand should be the motto of every good teacher. That is the approach of the Candlestick Course.
Yes, it has served me a lot. I have the Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques. On the internet there is a lot of info, but the book organizes it and also mix the oriental analysis with Western indicators. Recommended 100%.

Buy Beyond Candlesticks. If you don’t, you’re going to lose money. Japanese candles are the only leading indicator that is known. You need to know this if you want to catch the start and end of a trend.
I go back and forth to The Candlestick Course. It takes you from zero to an intermediate level. It’s perfect to start. You can find everything for free online, of course... but the book gives it to you with structure, beginning, development and final. It’s worth it.

Beyond without a doubt. Of course you could collect all that information on your own by browsing the internet, but it would take weeks, you would spend ink, paper, time... and still not as well organized as in the book. Now $100 is expensive? {2 minutes well put in an operation is worth it}.

The problem is not the book, it's you. If you don't know how to read the market, Nison won't do miracles.

If you're new, start with The Candlestick Course. It'll give you a solid foundation. Then you can move on to the most advanced. Don't skip the steps.

I read Japanese Candlestick Charter Techniques and helped me understand the "why" behind each pattern. It’s not just seeing the candle, it’s understanding what’s going on in the market.

It's no use having all the books if you don't practice. Just as you don't learn to swim by reading theory, you're not going to win in trading without putting your hands on the chart.

For me Nison is like the ABC of candles. If you want to dig deeper, then go to Al Brooks or Lance Beggs.
I started with The Candlestick Course and the difference was brutal. I went from intuitively into making decisions with arguments.
Are you really considering not buying it because "you can search it online"? It's like saying you don't need college because you can watch YouTube.
What helped me the most was how it links the patterns to areas of support and resistance. It’s not just seeing a hammer and entering.

With The Candlestick Course I realized I wasn't getting anything. I thought I was using candles, but I was just copying them. I read them now.
I'm not a fan of Nison. lt's okay to learn, but if you want something more up-to-date, look at the price action courses.

I have the Japanese Candlestick Charter Techniques of years ago and it's still my reference. It's a classic, like the Beatles.
Nison was the first to bring these techniques to the West, that's why it's worth reading.
But don't read it like it's the Bible. It's one more tool, not the holy grail.
One is deep theory and the other is guided practice. You're going to learn twice as much.

The part I liked most about the Candlestick Course is that it forces you to think. It’s not just reading, it’s solving real situations.

Be careful to fall in love with the patterns. Not all hammers are magical nor all engulfings work. Context is key.

I bought it used on Amazon for $18 and it was the best investment of the month. Not bad for something that can give you years of knowledge.

Eye, there's a lot of myth with candles. It's not a magic formula, but with practice they can make a difference.

Most patterns fail if isolated use. You need to see market structure, volume, context... Do not marry with a single method.
Nison's books helped me stop using indicators as if they were oracles.
People want recipes, and this book doesn't give them to you. It teaches you how to cook, it doesn't give you the food made.
Many talk about Nison but have not applied even 10% of what he says. It’s like buying a bike and keeping it in storage.
I learned more than a week with Nison than in months watching videos of gurus on YouTube that don't even operate.

Do you want to learn from candles? Start with The Candlestick Course. It makes you think and practice. Without that, don’t move forward.

I read Beyond Candlesticks and blew my head off with Renko and Heikin Ashi. It opened up another world for me.

It's worth every penny.
Do you want quick answers? Don't buy books. Do you really want to learn? Start with Nison.

The important thing is not what book to read. The important thing is if you're going to apply it later.

Once you understand what each candle means, it's like seeing the hidden intentions of the market. Nison gives you that power.
I have it in PDF and I still ended up buying it in physics. I use it so much that I wanted to underline it and fill it with notes.

I don't recommend it if you're one of those looking for automatic systems. This kind of analysis takes time and brain.

After reading Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques, I started seeing the graphics differently. Now I hear what the price tells me.

It's not gonna give you a system, but it's gonna give you judgment, and that's worth more.

If you're starting, don't mess with Beyond. It's more advanced and can overwhelm you.
In short: if you are going to read only one, let it be The Candlestick Course. If you are serious, I read all three.
Are you still doubting? Buy it and then thank me.
Learning candles without context is like learning words without knowing how to build phrases. The book gives you the context.
I started earning more when I stopped relying on indicators and started interpreting candles. Nison was the starting point.
