Hullo everyone. I have a question I hope someone may have an answer to, but first would like to present myself. I have being forum for months, and also find it a great forum with superior news. I have been investing in a micro account for some time and am getting my account balance to go up, and have enjoyed the trading wisdom that everybody has shared. Thanks, and as my experience grows I hope to donate more. What's worked for me personally is trading paying attention to the news in addition to technicals, and utilizing multiple time frames.

Today my query. I discovered last night that CAD/JPY made a sudden change at precisely 01h30 EST exactly (Nov 30), holding the summit price for only 15 secs, then dropped 12 pips in the next minute, and continued to fall for approximately the next hour. On a 30 min candlestick chart, the end result was a tweezer, without any upper shadows in forex. What I didn't understand was why the summit occured on the half hour. I see this occurs several times a week with currency pairs between CAD, such as CAD/JPY, EUR/CAD and USD/CAD, and at all times of the night or day, but usually on the half hour or hour. I don't see it on currency pairs I have looked at, such as GBP/USD or even USD/JPY. It looks artificial. Is this perhaps automated trading by a player that is huge currently taking place? I would like to know what pushes this, as it worries me investing in a pair that acts in this manner.

I did search the forums, but couldn't find any remarks on this behaviour. Look forward to hearing?
