Scaling out in profit

I read that Van Tharp was against scaling from a winning position. He states that doing this you cut your profits . To me it appears like securing profits. I could never find out an exit stage like I loe a stop loss, it never worked for me, so the only means to extract profits would be scaling out the position. Scaling out can be tweaked to maximize profits.

For me it is essential to proceed to BE asap, it supplies plogical ease. Also when moving to BE I close part of position (half usually but today I'm thinking to close 1/3 just ). Is closing 1/4 when profits proceed at precisely the exact same space as SL. If I start a position with first risk and I close 1/4th as I stated and when the SL is hit I would just lose 1%, without even moving the SL at all.

So I begin scaling out as a fantastic thing, not a terrible thing.

Anyone has an opinion on this?
