An EA, or Expert Advisor, is simply a trading platform hard coded into a computer program, which can then automatically trade for you. It is portion of MetaTrader 4, and it is a free program that I promise will boost your trading. I suggest you read up on these topics much more before you choose to implement them.

I can't recall exactly what EA stands for but it is a sort of autmatic trading system.

You put it on, place it directly and it enters, exits transactions for you.

It analyzes whatever it is programed to anlyze, things like MA corsses or RSI being over bought/sold.

They are mainly run off metatrade 4 platform and IMO are not very reliable at all. I would not trust my money to a gadget.

I'm an oldschool trader.

Ohh man I love this forum, thanks for the speedy answer...

one more question, which EA do you guys propose to start playing around with? (I'm still on the demo account) I been trading stocks and options for more than 4 decades now, so that I understand how charts and technical analysis work!!!

And just how do you set up an EA? I see the EA files from the forum but don't understand where you put documents into MT4...

Thank you for the response

Gadget?

If an EA is a gadget then does not that make a computer a gadget also?

Are you trusting computers to properly execute the orders you submit?

I prefer coding my egies into the computer because it can process faster than I could and it does it the exact same way everytime. I really don't have to THINK, PROCESS, ETC.. . All I have to do is REACT.

But then again, my degree is in computer science so this stuff is a piece of cake to me.

I can only trade 1 instrument at a time because I am a scalper by nature. But the computer egy I composed can trade as many instruments as I load into it.

Cars where gadgets at one time...

YOU CAN'T STOP PROGRESS! Hey, can u provide me the EA documents? I really curious with that thing!

Thanks!!

Hi, I'm a newbie, can somebody tell me what is EA mean? Where can I read more? Thank you I see, you already got your answer! Incidentally, I am paying attention to know why you're considering trading EA? As a new Forex trader, you should concentrate on technical and fundamental analysis to construct your trading skill.

In my experience, EAs don't really work because there are many parameters available on the market to be thought about!

Maybe now it functions, but tomorrow you may lose money.

It is my view only, but it is much better to be trading yourself. In the end, if there was an algorithm to trade entirely automatically, there wouldn't be numerous brokers and analysts on stock markets.

Expert Advisors (EA) of all types are developed. A lot of those EAs have disappeared because of their inferior performance. Some continue in the market.

EA stands for Expert Advisor for the MetaTrader platform. Sniff around the forums and you'll be edued. There's also a dude on here named Merlin and many think he provides Expert Advice too.
