I am currently using Verizon National Access with an aircard but I am
constantly losing my net connection, and the rate is not even
as quickly as dial-up. I would like a reliable internet connection, particularly
since I intend on starting autotrading. I know DSL would be fantastic
but it is not suitable for me since I want portability with my laptop.
I am considering upgrading to broadband using an aircard. Are any
nigeriaforextradingmembers utilizing broadband for their internet connection? If so, how
would you rate the reliability of your internet connection and functionality
together with trading?

I really don't have a laptop, so I do not think so and I would be of any help regarding cards.

I'm using a regular ADSL home link. If you would like to rate the reliability of the ADSL connection, you will need to take into account the following variables:

1- Rate
two- Uptime
3- Congestions if any
4- Customer Support

1- Rate: This is completely up to you. I use the cheapest rate available and it's more than sufficient (256 Kbps). In the united states, I do not believe you will ever find this minimal rate, not sure though, but for trading, anything above 128 Kbps will be nice

two- Uptime: This is crucial and will not be known unless you try the company yourself. I spent 6 months with my connection seller in. Since the nature of trading, I really don't give a dam if my internet connection goes down 1 whole day each 30 days, but when my internet connection goes down two hours every day, I'll take the seller immediately and change to another one, although the uptime in both cases are the same, but the frequency of this down isn't

3- Congestions happen because vendors over-load their traces hoping that not every client will use the connection at the exact same time. For example, if a seller has a entire bandwidth of 10 Mbps, typically a fantastic seller will sell a 1 Mbps lines to 12-15 clients and stop selling prior to increasing the potential. Bastards will sell 1 Mbps lines to 20-25 clients before thinking of increasing the capability to reduce exenses and updates as much as possible. If 20 people are having 1 Mbps running over a real 10 Mbps line, and all of them decided to utilize their bandwidth at the exact same time, you may experience a congestion, and your internet connection is going to be slow until the congestion is over. Congestions frequency is a great indior if your seller is a fantastic company or a Bastard, and also keep in mind, all vendors get congestions

4- Customer Support is vital too. I'm quite satisfied with the customer support of my seller. They're friendly, 24 hours available, and they are helpful. Sometimes, issues from the seller side occurs and the internet goes down for no valid reason. The support men usually Address those problems in minutes, just if they are available together with their phones and infront of their computers

Thanks,

Nader
