To demonstrate a pair as a chart, I click a standard chart shows up. Is there a way that when I click on a pair, the egy of this previous chart-pair its colors on the chart automatically shows up on the pair I click on? Hope this is clear.

I don't know whether it's clear. If you mean you wish to start a new chart and have exactly the very same features as another chart you like, it is possible to save the chart you like as a template called default. Each chart you will be similar. If your talking about just switching chart tabs you can still use the attribute. Right click on a chart and explore the attribute. You can alter an open chart by loading a template that you saved from a different chart.

Below are some shortcuts if you don't want to store the chart as a template.

Together with the chart busy, hit the spacebar. You'll see that a textfield shows up from the corner of the chart. Type enter. The chart will update to show the new pair.

    Or...

Grab the desired symbol from the market watch window onto the chart. The chart will update to show the new pair.

Thnx for the fast response, nvwine. Yes, I want to start a new chart w/ the exact very same attributes as the previously shown chart ( the new chart overlays the previous chart). Don't understand what you mean by template named default. I am a newbie not oriented.

Thnx tesla, I will drag the pair from'Mkt Watch'.

NOW I HAVE A BIGGER PROBLEM. I am not very versed in MT4 (duh!) .
I played w/ the'choices''indior' listing (when I rt-clicked from the chart). I LOST 6 mos from the chart. The bars go '06, from Nov to June,'07. I don't know if it had to do w/ the 2'lists' I mentioned previously. It occurs on all pairs. HELP!

    Thnx, Sid

I can not think of any way you can delete background because of anything in the right click menu.
In case your only referring to the dates displayed in the active chart window you may have changed the periodicity (gone into a more compact time frame) or used the'zoom out' feature that made each bar wider. Another consideration if you're trying to examine background by scrolling back through the chart you want to have auto-scroll turned off. The chart will keep jumping to the current date.

Thnx, nvwine------------The auto-scroll worked, but I still have a gap ever, additionally, a'pivot indior' problem. I started a different thread to deal with this ('pivot indic. /gap in history'). Appreciate your help.
