How many pairs do you really have at the same time?

I would like to know how many currency pairs are on your active daily trading list. I’m not talking about having them on the platform, but how many you really analyze and operate. I started with 10 and ended up collapsing. Now I’m only following 3, and everything flows better. How do you do it?

I have two pairs left over. EUR/USD and GBP/USD. I prefer to meet them as if they were my neighborhood rather than jumping among strangers.

Sometimes I operate up to 12 pairs simultaneously. Of course, I have custom automations and alerts. But if you’re starting, that’s crazy.

Less is more. The one who tries to cover everything does not specialize in anything. I only see EUR/USD and AUD/USD. One slow, one more volatile.

I started out just like you, with a thousand open graphics as if that were going to give me more opportunities. Classic error. Now I just look at USD/JPY and I'm doing better.

3 pairs: EUR/USD, GBP/JPY and USD/CHF. I have them in different time blocks and they give me enough daily movement. But I do not mix styles between them.

3 pairs? I'm not even clear with one yet! EUR/USD already drives me crazy with so much manipulation. But I'm learning to stop inventions and keep focus.

Are there really people who operate more than 5 pairs at the same time manually? Or do they have clones? Because that’s not management, it’s roulette.

Depending on your style. If you do scalping, you can't keep an eye on more than 2. If you swing, you can follow 6 and act only when there are clear conditions.

I have a 6 watchlist, but I only operate if there's a signal in 2 or 3. Trying to operate is a recipe for making mistakes.

I only see GBP/USD and NZD/USD. They have different behaviors and that gives me diversity without collapsing. Also, spread is reasonable.

Those who operate 10 pairs are lying or losing money. You can’t be efficient with so much on screen. It’s not chess, it’s reaction in real time.

And what about those who use correlations? I follow 6 pairs because 3 are opposite and 3 correlated. So I have a wider view without being saturated.

Good question. I adjust according to volatility of the week. There are weeks that I only touch USD/CAD because it reacts very technical. Other times I move to exotic crosses if there are strong fundamentals.

My daily strategy uses volume and volatility filters. If a pair doesn't meet the criteria, I don't touch it. It's that simple. I usually end up operating between 1 and 3 pairs per day.

I operate whatever moves, no matter the name. If EUR/NOK is with low spread and clean trend, I enter. I have no favorites.

It's dangerous to operate everything that moves.

I'm one of those, just XAU/USD, so I have enough adrenaline and opportunities every day.

I like to follow 4: EUR/USD, USD/JPY, GBP/JPY and XAU/USD. Each has its own character and teaches me different things.

4 pairs is fine if you have experience. For beginners, that’s like wanting to learn 4 languages at a time. You’re going to mix signals, emotions and mistakes.

I trade only in London and NY. I only have serious volume in 3 or 4 pairs at that time. So what else?

Bless simplicity! I used to kill myself by tracking 20 pairs with Excel, alerts, patterns... and I lost the same. Now only EUR/USD and GBP/USD.

I have 8 pairs on screen but filter with a brutal checklist. If they do not meet 3 conditions, I do not look at them. So I stay with 2-3 good entries a day.

I am trying to limit myself to just 1 pair for a whole week. It has given me a lot of clarity. Recommended!

Yes, but carefully. Exotics move a lot, but they also burst you with spreads and slippage. You have to have a decent broker and a clear strategy.

I did scalping with USD/MXN and ended up with a broken soul. The movements were good, but the execution was not accompanying.

The real question should be: how many pairs can you operate well without losing your head? If it is 1, make it 1. But do it right.

I follow 5 pairs: 3 majors and 2 exotics. But I never enter more than 2 at a time. It’s like having a template, but I only align to those in shape.

I follow EUR/USD to the death. I got tired of looking for the best pair when in reality the problem was my lack of focus.

It depends a lot on whether you're dealing with indicators, price action or fundamentals.Some pairs react better to one approach than others.

I let the economic calendar tell me what to follow every day. So I prioritize according to events, not according to tastes.

Sometimes we force operations in pairs without volume or sense, just by routine. The calendar filters a lot.

I have a rule: if I can't mentally draw the graph of the pair without looking at it, I don't operate it.

The level of familiarity with an asset changes everything: management, execution and psychology.

I went to the extreme: I have operated only USD/JPY for 6 months. I have not become rich, but I am more consistent than ever.

USD/JPY is ideal for that. It has clear patterns, good liquidity and responds well to technicians. I find it an excellent choice to specialize.
