Thread: Who else avoids operating on Mondays?

Hi everyone, I've been avoiding operating on Mondays for a couple of months and I've been doing so much better. I notice that movements are usually erratic, with little real volume, and many times the technical signals just don't work as they should. Am I the only one who doesn't open the chart until Tuesday?

Yesterday I broke my rule and launched to operate EUR/USD on Monday... guess what happened: stop the busted in less than an hour. Never again. I am convinced that Mondays are only to study and prepare the rest of the week.

I started applying this rule after seeing that my statistics confirmed it. 70% of my worst tickets were on Monday. I don’t know if it’s because of lack of liquidity, because of excess coffee, or because the market just hasn’t digested the weekend yet.

It really affects you so much one day?! So you don’t have a robust system, period. A disciplined trader operates when his system gives him entry, not according to the day of the week. Put a candle on St. RSI better...

I agree with the thread creator. Monday is more psychological than technical. Many traders are in “reboot mode” and that is noticed in the price action. I prefer to dedicate it to reviewing my mistakes and seeing larger structures.

The market is the market, no matter if it's Monday or Friday. If your operation doesn't work on Mondays, it's because you haven't adapted your system to the context.

What a relief to see that I am not the only one! I have even come to feel guilty about not operating on Mondays, as if I were “wandering.” But since I avoided it, my monthly profitability has improved markedly.

I use them on Mondays for what I call “paper trading.” I simulate tickets without putting in real money, just to analyze the structure. It’s amazing what you learn without risking capital.

Whoever says that every day is the same, clearly hasn’t felt an opening gap in GBP/JPY on a Monday morning. It cost me 8% of the portfolio. Learn the lesson.

This is like the coffee debate: some people need it to live, others say it’s pure placebo. If avoiding Mondays gives you more confidence and consistency, then it’s the right decision for you. Each trader has its rhythm.
