After reading the whole thread and seeing so many divided opinions on whether the scalping in the Asian session is profitable or not, I want to provide my experience and analysis in depth. I have been doing scaling exclusively for more than 6 years in this session, and while I recognize its limitations, I have also discovered advantages that few take advantage simply by disinformation or lack of patience.The first thing to understand is the nature of the market during the Asian session.The low volume, yes, but does not disappear.There are movements, especially during the first two hours of Tokyo, that if they are thoroughly studied, they follow repetitive patterns.Few news, more technical movements and less direct institutional manipulation are characteristics that, well used, allow generating entries with fairly acceptable risk-benefit ratios.The second thing is that success is not in entering many times, but in having an extremely filtered system.I use a set of rules based on microstructure of the market, with VWAP, dynamic bands and delta in addition, all this supports a relative volume filter my system only if the market is "respirating".
