Hi everyone. I’ve already been in demo for six months and three months in real. I’ve lost more than half of my account, and although I know it’s part of the process, I’m starting to wonder if this is for me. Is it normal to be losing so much time without seeing positive results? I’m following risk management and I have a log.
Thank you for answering me privately some. I have adjusted my stop loss to a more conservative R, but it still gets me out many times because of market noise. Has this happened to you at the start? Should I expand my SL or is it bad practice?
I have noticed that when I operate less, I lose less. Literal. I only do well when I do nothing. I do not know if it is that my strategy is useless or I am the problem.
To all gurus who say that this is "easy" or that "with discipline you win", I invite them to my MyFXBook account. I am fed up with the romanticization of trading. This is frustrating.
To those who have just begun, sincere advice: if you are not willing to see your account in red for months without results, do not enter this world. More resilience is needed than intelligence.
Respectfully, stopping losing is not the same as winning. I managed to stop burning accounts, but I'm still in break-even after almost a year. Sometimes that's the first big step.
It's not normal, it's NECESSARY. The market charges you for learning. No one comes out unharmed from the first few months. The key is to lose less every time and document EVERYTHING.
There are people who haven't been profitable for years and still don't give up.
What if the problem is that you're in real too soon? Three months in demo is nothing. Did you really do 100 operations with the same strategy?
I understand you too much. I have been 7 months and I haven't seen a positive month. I love the analysis, but as soon as I enter the market, I become a mess. It's frustrating.
