Thread: difference between Usable Margin and Used Margin

I Am a newbie. I've been studying informations here and there and taking classes for learning fundamentals of the forex market. In the center of my studying, I came to understand exactly what Usable Margin is, Now what makes me mistake about is your Used Margin. . What is the distinction between the two in the first loion?

Used margin is exactly what you've already used. Usable is exactly what you have left to use.

Supposing I have a balance of? 100 (oanda), 50:1.
Now I buy 5.000 units EUR/USD. Usable margin = 0.

Do get a margin call? If so, why?

Usable margin = Free Margin.
