Thread: Journal of a trader that only operates Monday and Friday

After several years operating every day and burning more beads than candles on a birthday, I decided to try something radical: only operate Monday and Friday. This journal will be my record of operations, ideas, errors and progress with this strategy. Less stress, more focus.

Today is Monday and I executed my first daily trade: sale in GBPJPY after rebound in daily resistance + surround sail pattern. TP reached with 68 pips. Casuality? Maybe. But I will not get on any train during the week.

Friday, day of opportunities and traps. I saw a clear pattern in EURUSD but I didn’t go in. Why? Because the spread was inflated and I don’t want to give money to the broker anymore. Sometimes the best trade is to do nothing, even if it costs.

Okay, I admit it: last Monday I forced an entry into AUDCAD because “I wanted to operate.” Result: -45 pips. I didn’t respect the plan. It wasn’t the market, it was me. This diary is going to hurt, but at least it’s honest.

Friday: Fake break in USDCHF, entrance by classical volume trap. +53 pipes. Clean operation. I stay with the best of the week. Operating less is helping me to have more mental clarity.

I don't understand why nobody talks about operating just Monday and Friday. What do the other days have that makes them special? Manipulated volatility during the week? Or just needing to be in the market?

If you tell me this isn’t “serious trading,” I invite you to show your record. I’m being more profitable in two days a week than many in five. The one who does a lot of trading, little wins... usually.

Monday again. There was no clear setup. I didn’t operate. I would have invented an entry earlier. I’m learning to master anxiety.

Friday: loss of 32 pips in a bad purchase located in GBPUSD. I did not expect confirmation. I still have impulses to enter without the market “inviting me”. But every loss teaches me.

Two weeks in a row with profit. +67 and +41 pips net. The best is not money, but tranquility. I have time to live, read, study and still be profitable.
