Thread: MetaQuotes quotThis is the last MT4 upgradequot

  1. #21
I quickly looked in the coding tasks submitted on the site that was mql5. Out of their most recent 100, 13 are for MT5. Thats 87% for MT4. A year or so back it was more like MT4, therefore MT5 is obviously gaining popularity.
I believe it would be a mistake to induce people to change from MT4 into MT5 as people naturally rebel and Metaquotes may find themselves losing market share.
I think that MT4 has been a Golden Goose to get Metaquotes and it seems absurd to Kill it, in my view.

In addition they added OOP and almost nobody uses it. I would have a lot things I have to do with dirty workaround because the absence of multithreading (multi currency EA's that currently only working with timers and you don't have any callback for the single ticks except the pair you conducting that ea on). So you wind in searching for the smallest timer level to get all calculations performed and still have a good response. Or you wind up opening 28 terminals that call your external progr when they are able to operate multithreaded. Then you only have the problem that the terminal that gets a request is restricted to the timer or sign up to respond. Taking all this into account there are no alternative if you want a good development plattform. So my hope is that all those things will come in MT5 if MT4 dies.

I've looked at their homepage. Looks like it uses C# for programming.
When your broker is not supported you have to use MT4 with an EA to route your commands. But you've got exactly the very same issues as MQ4. The EA that gets all requests and give all responses is running in the terminal thread, you gain nothing in utilizing that, just a more fancy UI.

I favor simpler things. Multiterminal can be solved with pipes like copiers tools. Really significant MT5 is much better. I concur with individuals have some things like merge trades in 1 position are not good but difficulty is MT5 was created thinking in FIFO principles and I don't think this behavior with transactions will be change in a future. But you can code an instrument for simulate tickets. You may do it although it is more work. Then is not a problem. Just an issue

Thanks for information. It supports MT4 indiors MQL4 languages. Any Mt4 brokers can be linked according to chat assistant in that side. Independent platform to conduct Metatrader4 indiors. Now free later may be compensated platform . In case Mt4 closed , Mt4 users still be able to conduct indiors/scripts irrespective of center of Currency Market broker supplied Mt4 or even Mt5 or any other. So far it's start of hope . . .hope program manufacturers build similar program that support MQL4 code.

Where did you find that? The indiors are writen in C#. Possessing a MT4 bridge not indie that you can use EX4 within their program.

I only spoke with FXCM again about MT5 plus they have no plans to switch their broker variant to MT5. They say the need is too little. I added my support for MT5 ... despite counting for very little.
I discussed using MT5 along with also a copier to MT4 so that I can use MT5 using the software doing its job via MT4. There's absolutely no problem for https://www.mql5.com/en/docs/constan...rderproperties...

I simply downloaded their platform , need to test it. I asked customer support and they said above all. It takes original MQL4 document rather than .ex4 files. Testing under procedure. Go to expert trader site, ask your clarifiions you want. Support is online.

This would be possible for sure, when they parse and interpret those source documents or convert them to their own logic an eBook. I, however, can believe they will do so work to support it. Even if they only port a subset of the MQ4 syntax it won't solve the problem, since it won't work for that parts with syntax thei don't have ported. Very difficult. I will definitely take a look at it.
