They are missing an important point: when the end users (traders) do not desire MT5, forcing brokers to move on wont make the deal as easy as Metaquotes is anticipating.

You understand how works community mind. Traders want trading and if brokers do not give other alternatives that mt5 finally they will accept the change. Finally many issues are extremely subjective. And payed indiors can be ported free for founders if they believe is reasonable

I think, which you're wishing for that change, because perhaps, you're not a good trader, and also the holy grail arrives to you, altering appliions from MT4 into Mt5.

Ps : I do not accept tasks for code custom indiors. When someone ask me I always sent to . I don't know if he really does that kind of tasks but is the coder with more reputation here

You make a great point. As was pointed out before, traders are NOT Metaquotes' clients brokers are! However, traders would be the end users and the brokers' raison d' tre with traders, brokers wouldn't exist!

That I think that the major issue for traders is backward compatibility, or lack thereof. Can it be possible or not to vent their MT4 indiors, EA's and scripts over to MT5? Without such a centre, traders will strongly resist the addition of MT5. Metaquotes should provide:- 1) a facility for converting MQ4 source code into MQ5 source code and, 2) a centre for decompiling of all EX4 code so that it may be converted into MQ5 code prior to becoming recompiled (this would shield the initial coder's intellectual property). These facilities should be hard coded to MT5 so that the very first time an indior, EA or script is run, it is automatically converted into MT5 format, irrespective of whether or not the relevant document is MQ4 or even EX4. After all is said and done, this is exactly what happens to end user documents when Microsoft introduces new versions of Word, Excel, etc.. Alternately, these facilities can be provided exclusively online and needs to be at no charge, just as there are numerous websites offering conversion of files from 1 format into another. If Metaquotes would offer such facilities, then I think MT5 will be voluntarily embraced by all concerned, and we could all move on.

Without backward compatibility, traders are most likely to strongly withstand the addition of MT5, which will make life hard for brokers who, in turn, would probably also strongly withstand the addition of MT5. If Metaquotes attempts to inflict MT5 unilaterally, without a backward compatibility for indiors, EA's and scripts, it'd most likely spell the end of Metaquotes over time, and for many brokers as well, as traders ramble off to alternative platforms/brokers, which would be in nobody's best interests. No company in any field has lived in the long run by unilaterally imposing changes which are not desired by the end user.

Here's the most recent. This smacks of desperation to me :-

....MQ will induce us to MT5 in certain time for sure...
anyhow we have many coders here. What's your expertise with MT5? Pros and cons vs. MT4?
