Thread: Do you stop trading during the end of year holidays?

Is trading briefly stopped by you in December, and restart again in January? Or do you exchange straight throughout the holidays?

I am ceasing and depositing money on those dates too, apart from everything easing down, there is to many societal activities between my number two principle is to not exchange when inebriated. (I get overconfident).

If you are trading something with reduced liquidity, even if markets are available and you can get via your broker or spread-betting firm, spreads can be a major cost (and risk) when volumes are reduced. All these are undetectable as they do not show on a price chart, or so the chart above the holidays can look absolutely the same as any other month - but beware of these quotes.

I have seen some bullshit happen this time of year. Of course if some can see market depth - with such reduced liquidity/volume, and have the access to capital. It may be a most glorious time of the year.

It's beneficial to take short breaks out of trading today and then, if nothing else to be able to review and potentially adjust without real trading to divert. The generally thinner and smoother markets over Christmas are a fantastic prospect. And it is bad to drive or trade whilst under the influence...

I will reduce my risk like around ten occasions for the holidays next week. Looking for exit opportunities on Gold. Will trade the vaions just to be around the market, but will anticipate nothing. Just for the match...

No I don't trade in the close of the year. I take the rest from November to January's end. In this phase market liquidity is not up to the market. Movement can be seen by you. It's vaions time. So a lengthy break is refreshing.
