I can not trade the NY session due to a work conflict, my options are the london and asian markets. I only stick to the usd pairs but I cant. Cross pairs seem more volatile, higher spreads but I don't have any choice.

Any tips on cross pairs. Please everyone help if you're able to. I am seriously destressed on this and want advice, thanks in advance.

Trading through NY hours can be very profitable. Most activity is 6am-11am EST.. UK trading has its own stripes but continues to be dead recently likely due to holidays and will restart after labor day. Trading through news can get mad, and lots of brokers won't fill orders afterward or will add slippage of around 50 pips to your order. Asian trading has been dead for a long time and will generally only work around BOJ interest rate news. At times you can get 20-30 pips afterward. Trading early Mon and Fri UK often works great today altho UK news moves have been quite little.

    Hi Mappollo,

If u might exchange london session, I think its more than enough for u to bcome a complete time trader then u can exchange any session u like.
For a day trader, my persnal trade doesnt last more then an hour entry and exits. Maximum 1.30 hour m out.
U can always exchange Gbp/$ and? /$ in london session and which will make un enough pips or cash. Overlook other pairs concentrate on these two majors and rest would be fine.

    Hav fun.

Thanks for reply, Im out the door by 6am and home at 7pm. Because you can observe limited options. I have traded the 2a-4a market, little gains but of hrs sleep per night, cant have it effect occupation. Have to correct trading plan, appears like days are outside, concentrate on standing trading,trending- longer time period.

Simply need to correct my limitation, stop loss orders-Instead of intraday transactions I intend to be in for days at a time, only a few trades per week. Slight shift.

Ill due what I got to due, I enjoy the forex market too much.
Ill concentrate on gbp/usd and determine if I can get 150-250 pips weekly, Ill work towards that and see how things go.

Im mad too I cant exchange the news, I appreciated those 75-150 pip jumps-In outside in 10 minutes. Awesome, risky and thrilling.

    Thanks again.

You will observe runs of 40 to 60 pips, and even more during those hours. For instance on 6/22 and 6/23 runs of 200 pips and 150 pips began strongly during those periods. That's with all the GBP/USD and the spread is generally 4 to 5 pips. These runs will begin at approximately 2am when the GBP session opens and then the Euro session opens at 3am. I used to watch the Asian session but in the few months I have only seen two or three great runs it mostly channels between 0 and 20 pips. In the latter part of July the Asian session did have some good runs but for me and what I know it isn't time effecient for me to search for those. Wont child you however I do want to be able to exchange the N.Y. session. What time can you go to work I am working on another method of placing orders with entry, stop loss, and limitations (desired amount of pips) to capture a small portion of the market.

I will trade, learn, adjust, my plan to beginning with opening market, Sun 5pm EST.. I get some economic news, good closing amounts, and time to test out some more approaches. I adore THE TREND IS YOUR FRIEND, Im a newbie but thats the best logic I've heard since begining.

Im looking the commerce the UK launch at 701pm EST and see how I do.

I need the think, okay I'm in transactions for days vs earlier, in/out with in hours. Still have the intraday trader thinking. Dam Plgy, needs to be included. Mental prep in Fx I think to be critical, I believe it will take me months to reach there but its inside time interval in my trading plan.

I think Im on track. Testing these last few months I've learned ALOT, IM ABSORBED AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. Listed below are fast amounts,

    1st month - Getting a sense of things, internet proportion w/l = 30%
    2nd month - huge jump in study, internet proportion w/l = 60%
    3rd month - Indier crazy, news, comprehensive anaylsis, internet w/l = 70-75%

Nevertheless dont have a group platform, a bit here, a bit there. So much information on internet, my mind will pop soon.

Opinions are valued, UK launch 5min, gotta move, will return .

In the event that you can not trade NY time, then commerce london opening. By the book it's the session. I focus the majority of my trading on london's opening until about 4 hours after.

    Opened long gbp/usd at 1.8830(2 lots), 701pm
Closed at 1.8848, 945pm, 18 pip move at (2 lots)
PROFIT $370.00, might have been , exited early.

    Extended aud/usd at .7594 at 551pm

Than you can exchange on timeframes, don't overlook. Take a peek at the Vegas 4H (or the Knife from the PF), which trades on a 4 hour chart. In reality, many experienced traders recomend that those just starting out commerce just on the 4H and upward.

Tks, I read the whole Vegas thread, all 27 pages, intriguing. I am checking into the 4hr method, just have to get my thoughts in to swing trading rather than intraday trading. Taking a look at the setup, dont see the specified entry pts, stuck on intraday thinking.

It looked like yesterday there was a tunnel setup for its usd/jpy, breaking upward thru tunnel. Any decent setup you can reccommend.

    Advice is valued.
