Thread: Myth Busters the Forex Edition

  1. #1
I've got a schedule here and that's to:

    1. Dispel All of the BS about trading Forex
    2. Hopefully provide a little back to all that I have gotten out of this forum
    3. Entertainment

I do expect this to be a civil respectful conversation.

Well it's called Momentum, regrettably it does not appear to actually do so, atleast not in a usable way!!

This is simply because price doesn't have any mass, thus no momentum. The principle from Physics you're referring to has no meaning in forex, otherwise the previous candle management alone would already provide an advantage, which it does not.

It kinda does possess virtual mass, provided by the imbalance between buyers and sellers and the basic facts it is moving, the momentum barely translates into a H4 chart candle wise, which explains why reading candles on a H4 is so ridiculous, try out a tick chart really visible there and visible at times with M1.

It may not have mass, but it sure has momentum!

There are so many myths in gambling.

The myth of time period is one of the worst. There is NO time framework in trading, just how we look at and segment , which becomes a self fulfilling prophecy as well.

The market just knows when it opens and it closes, other than that, there's absolutely no time frame solely the individual trades and how we split them into segments we can understand...
Probably the best place I've ever read (post #15). Seriously.

    Well done, mate.

Mass in not the only force that can move things. Momentum alone is frequently enough. Stand in front of a 50 mile per hour wind and see exactly what it will.

It's very, very little mass, but will knock you on your rosy red. Price momentum is much the same. Get on the incorrect side of this, and it'll kill your account only the same as when there were real mass involved.
