Hi thisara1, I know you asked your question to DonPato, which he may have a different explanation? However, if I might provide some explanations, my comprehension of delta is that it's predicated on market orders therefore it won't have the ability to track the limit orders that are already sitting on the publication or from the market so to speak, so as with other kinds of delta indicators you could have occurrences of concealed divergence (which could be a trading tactic in of itself) so consider effort versus reward or movement or momentum, such as in this circumstance where there are a lot of buy orders coming from but price was failing to move higher despite the market buy orders hitting the tape, so just above there, an individual could deduct there might have been a lot of market limit orders sitting there absorbing the buying pressure, therefore price went lower in the interim, despite it looking differently. Make sense hope this helps?

As this DonPato's ribbon I hope I am not stepping on his feet here by chiming in? Its a fantastic thread I have gotten a lot out of itself, I have also long begun using this indi as well'm finding it helpful in assisting in monitoring the orderflow for picking up divergences inside.

    Cheers

Thanks for your answer J-j. I appreciate your support and there aren't any toes. However I want to point out that I have stated on several occasions that this thread isn't a trading signal, nor am I'm here to tell anyone where or how to trade. I really do not and Won't answer questions like:Where should I input? Where should I put stops or my limit? Is this commerce over or should I hold? What's the entrance or exit sign? These questions suggest that volume analysis is some type of methodology or system which specialized traders can employ a rule set. Nothing could be further from the reality. This thread is here to stimulate conversation on the best way to use volume analysis as a tool in your evaluation of markets. I have established NO rule place for utilizing this and will not.

If any of you has a question on how I assess the volume information please ask me...I will give you my opinion. Like all analysis I believe it is incumbent on the trader to draw their particular decisions. The majority of the time, it should appear obvious. (imo)

I bought VSA plug in from Tradeguider. However nowadays I don't use it much. Without utilizing it, I can identify SOS and SOW. What's your question?

New long positions based on NZD/USD:

Following a long (and seemingly endless) move down, it appears there's been a change in the order flow/volume in this market. Relentless selling appears to have exhausted now. This can be indicated by majority selling lower and lower in each successive candle. This is interpreted by me as the retail crowd now is on board with all the selling. Then, those sellers are stopped out along with the bigger term traders who have now exited their shorts in profit. This produced an order flow inversion showing the majority of buyers near the highs of the day.

Now the late vendor is pushing prices down to the region where buying overcame selling. I anticipate more buying in this area, and also have entered a buy with a different pending buy in the same area where buyers really showed their curiosity days ago. I am buying the low of this day/week/month/year. (Time will tell if I've selected wisely)

2nd order flow inversion on NZD/USD:

I have never been full in my 2nd (and cheapest ) order but the current order is favorable. This being the first of the week we may find some ranging but the buying at the top of Friday's candle shows me that the selling price (at least in the near future) is dropped into just about nil.
