Thread: Thinking about trying again with the forex

You can re-operate forex, don't get discouraged, there are no exceptions here. First operate with demo for about 7-8 months, I understood the strategy before opening a real account. I invested only what you could afford to lose.

I liked your attitude. All human beings are children of God - thankful for everything.

Start with a demo account until you prove you're profitable. Otherwise, you're wasting time and money again.

Why did you stop trading the first time? Will you consider yourself an experienced trader or a novice? If you’re one of the first, start with a bankroll you can lose. If you’re new, better a micro account. Practice good risk management. Hot stops? It depends on how you operate. I’m with EURJPY and GBP/USD. What did you operate before? “See the ball. Hit the ball.”

I don’t know whether to call it luck or calculus, but the EUR/USD trade closed in profit. Maybe the universe gave me that little push needed to get back into the arena with more confidence. It wasn’t a fortune, but it was a moral victory I needed. I’m preparing another trade, but I want to make sure it’s not just a hunch. This time I’ll analyze the support and resistance well, as well as checking the fundamentals of the day. I want to build a system that has some logic behind it, not just “faith of trader”.

I've been with this forex spin for years, and every time I come back, it's like a mixture of nostalgia and frustration. But this time I want to do things head-on. I don't have 20 years or the ego out of my head. I have something better: patience. I'm putting together an operating log. It's all written down. Date, entry, departure, trade reason, feelings. If I'm going to crash again, unless it's with data to learn from every impact.

Today I did a technical analysis of GBP/USD and everything tells me that it goes up... but I also remember when "everything indicated" the same thing and I ended up crying in a fetal position. This time I will go with a minimum lot and stop tight. The difference now is that I refuse to operate without a plan. No more impulses. The impulse is good to write poetry, but in forex, the impulse empties the bill. I will take this trade as if it were an exam.

I had an uncomfortable conversation with my wife. She asked me why I would go back to the forex if I always lost. I answered her that it's like going back to your ex: you know it hurt you, but there's something addictive about the emotion. She didn't laugh. But deep down she's right. That's why this time I won't put in more than $500, and only if I demo it gives me positive results for 2 months. No more crazy, no more wet dreams of getting rich in a month. Step by step.

I read out there that "the market is not against you, it just doesn't matter." That phrase fell to me like a bucket of cold water. For years I thought there was something personal when I lost. Spoiler: there wasn't. So I'm going to try not to take anything personal this time. Neither the SLs, nor the killer candles, nor the fundamentals that come out right after my entry. It's all part of the game. And if I accept it as such, maybe, just maybe, it will last longer alive.

I tried a scalping strategy that I saw on YouTube. Spoiler: I lost in the first three trades. The strategy seemed simple, but in the real moment, the execution was chaos. I have decided that not everything that shines is gold, especially when it comes with epic background music and promises of "financial freedom." I will return to the basics: support, resistance, EMA and a lot of demo practice.
