Thread: Here I go... :)

Very good to all, This is my first post on the forum, although I’ve been reading here for a while. I’m quite interested in forex, but right now I don’t have a lot of money to start. Anyway, I’m reading tutorials, I’ve started one of the recommended books and soon I’ll open a demo account that I’ll take seriously before going into real operations. As I have enough time to be in front of the computer, I was thinking about starting by scalping. I guess with about 10-15 pips a day I’d be worth to cover my needs, but I have several doubts to make this work. For example: what kind of pairs should I focus on to do scalping? My idea is to try to survive a time in the market, make some money and, from there, have more options in forex. I’ll probably start with a micro account (I’m still a student, it’s what there’s still what there is

I'm not very clear what questions exactly, but my education in forex started here: www.babypips.com I don't do scalping, I'm more of operating trends with a lot of attention to fundamentals, so I can't help you a lot in scalping.

If you're going to scalping, look for the linuxtroll thread. There you're going to learn what's necessary. It takes time, but it's worth it.

Forget about Oanda if you're going to do scalping. That's why you need an ECN broker like MB Trading. Market makers aren't going to let you scalp and, in fact, executions aren't as instant as demo. Demo always seems easy, but in real every millisecond counts.

If you're planning to start scalping, you'd better send me your money directly and save yourself the suffering.

I also recommend babypipes to those who start. Their free course is very clear and you can do it in a week or less. Then pass by the materials of this forum. On scalping: many beginners are attracted because small targets seem easy. But in reality, scalping is an advanced technique that demands a lot of discipline and a very high success ratio. If not, commissions and spread will kill you quickly.

Just a thought... Think about why it's called "Scalping" and not "killing" or "wounding." Which do you think is most dangerous? Prudence is the first step in this trade. Luck and welcome to the forum.

In my opinion, scalping is not ideal for someone who starts. It gives the illusion of being quick and simple, but a single error can erase the winnings of 30-40 good operations and end up in margin call. Better start by practicing pending orders with clear targets and stops within weekly time frames.

Thank you for the warnings, the truth is that I already imagined that scalping would not be as simple as it seems in theory. It strikes me precisely because I have the time to be in front of the computer, but it is clear to me that maybe I should reconsider it and not throw myself upside down.

Look, if you have time to be on the screen, you better invest that time in learning price action, supports and resistances, market structure. Scalping will eat you psychologically if you're not ready.
