Thread: Key aspects to identify high probability operations

  1. #21
I always have an support plan.If a key level fails, the first thing I do is reassess the general market context. Is there anything I lost?If there is no clear explanation, I assume the loss and go ahead. The important thing is not to hold on to an idea that is not working. Each operation is just a piece in the largest panorama.

You talk a lot about liquidity gaps, but what happens if the price never returns to those areas?I have seen cases where a GAP remains open for weeks or months without being filled.Do you expect patiently or simply looking for other opportunities and forgetting those gaps?

  3. #23
If a GAP does not fill quickly, I do not use it as a signal to operate.Instead, I focus on other more immediate opportunities.Although gaps have a high probability of being filled eventually, it is not something guaranteed.I prefer not to get caught waiting for something that might not happen.

Personally, I think operating in ranges is easier than trying to follow trends. The ranges are predictable and offer clear opportunities for entry and exit. But what do you do when the market breaks the rank unexpectedly?Sometimes I feel that my Stop Losses are too tight and always get me.

If you operate in ranges, it is crucial to leave enough space for the price to breathe.A too adjusted stop can make you lose good opportunities. It is also important to monitor the context. If you see signs that the range is about to break, you might consider exit before or adjust your strategy to take advantage of the break.

Fundamental Analysis for Forex is a complete waste of time.Central banks do what they want, and sometimes the market does not even react as it should.Honestly, it is better to hit the technical analysis and forget about this. That said, if you enjoy wasting time in speeches and interest rates, then. But do not come to complain that you can't be profitable.

I respect your opinion, but I do not agree.I think combining FA and TA can give a unique advantage, especially in swing trading where the foundations have time to play their role.If you are so sure that FA does not work, maybe you could explain how you handle movements driven by important news, such as interest rate decisions.

I am not a FA fan, but I understand its value. My method is simpler: I only have key events such as NFP, inflation and interest rates.I do not analyze everything, because that would be impossible. In my experience, being aware of when important news will be published is more valuable than trying to interpret them. Thus I avoid unnecessary volatility.

It makes sense.I don't want to analyze everything either, but I feel that having a general framework on economics helps me understand the market in the long term.Maybe simplify it even more could be key not to saturate with data.Do you use any tool to filter only important events?

Yes, use economic calendars such as Babypips or Forexfactory. They are simple and clearly show what matters.I don't need anything more elaborate. In addition, I try to observe patterns. For example, if a central bank has been suggesting a change in monetary policy, normally the market has already discounted it.
