Do any of you work with brokers that allow execution via FIX API and are accessible without having millions of dollars? I’m interested in getting out of MT4 but without going into the institutional world yet.

A temporary solution could be to run less times a day, but with more precision. The problem is that I lose opportunities. What do you prioritize: quality or quantity on a high scale?

I'm in contact with an Australian broker who claims to have actual DMA execution. I'm going to try it. If it improves what I have now, it's already gain. Because in my current broker, every big inning is a Russian roulette.

I am doing backtest but taking into account real landslides in history. It is a tedious job, but it gives me a more realistic number. Backtest without slippage is a dangerous illusion, especially in high volume.

In my opinion, any order of more than 1M needs deep planning and analysis before launching. The one who comes in suddenly just by following the signal is shooting at the foot.

I'm considering trading with brokers that offer algorithmic execution by volume. I'm still investigating, but I think that's the future for mid-sized traders who don't want to institutionalize at all.

I think I underestimated the psychological impact of throwing big orders. Every click feels like a casino bet. I’m also working on the emotional issue, because that affects more than it seems.

Most think that moving from 1 lot to 10 is just multiplying. No, it’s completely changing the game. From psychology to technology, everything changes. It’s not the same sport.

I'm thinking of using an exclusive VPS just to operate volumes. I want to avoid latency and make sure the orders enter instantly. Has anyone already done so and noticed significant improvements?

Once I launched a large order in the middle of NFP publication. Serious error. I was filled in six levels and the slippage was crazy. Since then, I have rule: large volume, only calm and with low price dispersion.
