Thread: Real Journal of a Small Account Trader Looking for Consistency

  1. #1
Hello everyone, I have decided to open this journal to keep track of my evolution as a trader. I am operating with a real account of $310, with the aim of achieving consistency before even thinking about climbing capital. I focus on EURUSD, GBPUSD and USDJPY, on H1 and M15. My strategy is simple: price action with market structure, liquidity zones and a touch of dynamic EMA as reference. I do not seek to get rich fast, just show myself that I can be profitable in a controlled way. I will publish entries, departures, catches and reflections. I do not expect this to be spectacular, but I do hope to be honest with myself and with those who pass to read.

I wish you luck. Having a public journal forces you to think twice before you enter pointless. I learned more by writing than by operating.

$310 gives no room to breathe if you make mistakes. Be careful with risk management, do not use more than 1% per operation.

Good initiative. I started with $200 and the key was to treat it as $20,000. Discipline is what weighs the most.

Thanks for the feedback. Today first operation: Sale in EURUSD at 1.0854 after breaking structure in M15 + rejection of offer area. SL of 15 pips, TP at 1.0810. I closed manual at 1.0822 for loss of momentum: +32 pips, +2.3%. It was not perfect, but the entry was clear. I felt calm during the trade, which is a good sign.

Why didn't you let the TP run?

Good operation. Controlling the impulse to close before the TP is complicated, but if the price loses strength, better get out with profit.

I like the way you explained it. Do you use some kind of diary to record emotions and decisions besides the result?

Yes, I have a tracking template where I note: reason for entry, market conditions, execution, emotions before/during/after, and what I learned. Today, for example, I noticed that the volume fell in the target area, and that made me doubt. I prefer a partial closure instead of everything or nothing, but I still did not implement that in this strategy.

One suggestion: if you're going to operate so leveraged, think about using automatic breakeven once you get to 1:1. That gives you room for error.
